After last weekend htc touch pro p0sixninja announced via Twitter that he on a bootrom exploit for A5 (X) - would work and A6 (X) devices, it has now refilled with several other tweets and clarified the matter.
Earlier, MuscleNerd has already commented on reports of a few blogs,

because they (the way we DO NOT!) Have the tweets from p0sixninja be construed as if the bootrom exploit found practically.
Specifically wrote MuscleNerd, which developed together with the iPhone Dev Team, the jailbreak tool redsn0w that since the year 2010, no more bootrom dumped (ie saved), let alone crashed or been exploited:

The A5 processor of iPhone htc touch pro 4S and iPad 2 has been trying htc touch pro to dump several hackers, but without success. MuscleNerd therefore sees the newer A5X/A6X-Prozessoren a risk that this could be even more secure:
To GeoHot, who is responsible for the Limera1n bootrom exploit, which currently provides for an iOS 6.0/6.0.1 jailbreak on iPhone 3GS/iPhone 4/iPod touch 4G, MuscleNerd says the way that he is currently too busy with his job and therefore would not work on new jailbreak.
He replied to the tweet from MuscleNerd that since the year 2010, no bootrom could be crashed, so that it crashes quite a few have been successful and it is very close to dump the bootrom (ie secure).
Although the dump p0sixninja now succeeds, this is not a guarantee for a jailbreak. It may turn out still that Apple has secured the processor so that it does not allow exploits.
